Head/neck is a difficult area for DW imaging due to local inhomogeneities (mouth movement, swallow, dental restoration materials, air, different types of tissues), which degrade image quality. Multi-shot Read-out Segmented Echo-Planar Imaging (RS-EPI) is a new, revolutionary technique for obtaining high-quality, distortion-minimized diffusion-weighted images of challenging body regions, including the head and neck area, in clinically acceptable acquisition times.
