Signal, contrast and resolution information in k-space. If we erase the middle of k-space and just reconstruct the outside data we can see where the tissue boundaries are, but the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is low and we have no contrast information. Clearly we need both parts of k-space to get a useful MR image! This image has been reconstructed by the application "2D-Fourier".
