Measurement of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) from an image acquired with a single receiver coil and no parallel imaging acceleration is determined from the ratio of the average signal in the “Signal” ROI and the standard deviation of the noise in the “Noise” ROI, placed outside the object. This approach assumes that noise is uniform across the image. In addition, a correction factor for the underestimation of noise must be made.
