#dGEMRIC technique requires the use of Gd(DTPA)-2 as contrast agent. Why should we use only this type of contrast agent? This is a representative example from a study in which T1 mapping was done using (a) a charged contrast agent, Gd(DTPA)-2, and (b) an uncharged contrast agent, Gd-HPDO3A. The uncharged agent distributed uniformly, suggesting that the distribution of the charged agent is related to tissue charge.
