Splinter hemorrhages are tiny blood clots that tend to run vertically under the nails. Splinter hemorrhages are not specific to any particular condition but it can be associated with some conditions:- 1.Trauma (commonest) 2.Subacute bacterial endocarditis. 3.Septicaemia 4.Collagen disease- SLE, RA, PAN. 5.Haematological malignancy, Severe anemia 6.Psoriatic nails 7.Scleroderma.

To you the truth, Splinter hemorrhages 90% associated with collagen disease( SLA, RA) and 10 % with subacute bacterial endocarditis, and the other highlighted besides these 2 are wrong.
