Byssinosis, also called "brown lung disease" or "Monday fever", is an occupational lung disease(occupational asthma) caused by exposure to cotton dust in inadequately ventilated working environments. Byssinosis commonly occurs in workers who are employed in yarn and fabric manufacture industries.
That IS Vers interesting für me, because in my Country in Germany IS thus disease not knownend. Why IS IT also named Monday Fever? And how is the development of the disease.
It is caused by inhalation of the endotoxin produced by bacteria in the fibres of cotton. ..........it is called as Monday fever coz recurrence of the disease occurs at the beginning of the work week(Monday) and diminishing as the week progresses and tolerance develops
