Total Abdominal hysterectomy

Abdominal hysterectomy done today. It is a surgical procedure in which the uterus is removed through an incision in the lower abdomen. One or both ovaries and fallopian tubes may also be removed during the procedure. But here both ovaries & fallopian tubes are preserved as patient is 40 years old. Types of hysterectomy:- 1.Total hysterectomy 2.Subtotal hysterectomy 3.Radical hysterectomy Hysterectomy procedures:- 1.Abdominal hysterectomy. 2.Vaginal hysterectomy. 3.Laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy (LAVH). 4.Laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy (LSH). 5.Total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH). Indications:- 1.Abnormal uterine bleeding 2.Fibroids 3.Uterine prolapse 4.Endometriosish 5.Adenomyosis 6.Cervical abnormalities, Endometrial hyperplasia 7.Cancer of the cervix, uterus. Complications:- Hemorrhage Infection Urinary retention Blood clots Damage to adjacent organs Early menopause.
