Succinylcholine is a general anaesthetic which metabolised rapidly by plasma cholinestrase enzyme and having short duration of action but in some people due to genetic variation or acquired conditions having reduced action of cholinestrase and due its increase duration of action of succinylcholine and result in prolonged neuromuscular block and causes apnea.
