I was assigned to graduate project: non alcoholic hepatitis (NASH). Understanding the clinical and subclinical symptoms, I would like to ask, in my hospital patients often do not use liver biopsy, which is the gold standard for diagnosis: NASH. So, without a liver biopsy, are there any non-invasive methods used to diagnose NASH? I hope to receive the help from you, thank you very much.

NAFLD patients are usually insuline resistant. Also, NASH is an inflammatory condition, so inflammatory markers might help. I'm not sure though, it's sth for you look into. There are imaging techniques that can be really helpful, but I don't remember which is best.
